Ron Feigin, MD

Ron Feigin, MD
Psychiatrist

Ron and his family first came to Alaska for six months as part of a special program in cross cultural studies during his psychiatry residency. The Feigins fell in love with Alaska and, after his training was completed, they returned for what they thought would be a five year stay. Thirty-nine years later they still find great pleasure living and working in this great state.

Ron was Board Certified in Psychiatry in 1977. He was awarded the Distinguished Life Fellow status by the American Psychiatric Association in 2010 (DLFAPA). He has served in a number of positions in the Alaska Psychiatric Association including Ethics Committee Chairman and Alaska State Representative to the National Assembly of the American Psychiatric Association. In addition he has taught medical students as a Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Washington, and he has taught at the University of Alaska, Anchorage.

His private psychiatric practice has been directed toward the treatment of out-patient adults with a focus on individuals experiencing anxiety, biologically based mood disorders such as Major Depression and Bipolar Disorder, as well as Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder. He believes quality care involves attention to a person's biological, social and spiritual needs. Greatland had the great good fortune of having him join our team of excellent physician, mental health clinicians and staff, where he continues to offer quality care in a collaborative, supportive environment.
